7 Travel Tips for Travelers in Vietnam

Below are 7 handy tips for all travelers heading to Hanoi and Vietnam: 

Electricity - Vietnam's electricity is 220V. Power points are the 2 pin type. Power adaptors can be purchased easily at markets or supermarkets' for around $1US.

Time - Vietnam is GMT+7hrs.

Currency - Vietnam's currency is the Vietnam Dong. USD are widely accepted.

TV - Most hotels in Vietnam now has satellite TV. Channels include CNN, Star Movies, ESPN, Australian Network, Discovery, DWT (German), TV5 (French) and many more.

Newspapers - The Vietnam News Paper has daily editions in both English and French.

Toilets - Hotels and most newer restaurants' have western style toilets. Outside tourist towns, most toilets are the squat variety. Keep a roll of toliet paper handy!   

Noise - Vietnam is a noisy place, especially in the larger cities. Choose rooms away from the road and maybe pack some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper!
