A Flourishing Dining Scene at Logan Airport

  • News
  • Monday, November 10, 2008

At Boston's Logan Airport, travelers will find that the food court concept is big and there are plenty of fast food chain choices, but there are also a surprising number of very good locally-based restaurants too.

And although you are at the airport, and somewhat of a captive customer- you won't be overcharged.  Logan has a "street pricing policy "that requires restaurants to charge comparably to downtown.

Jerry Remy's Sports Bar and Grill

Terminal C

Jerry Remy, former Red Sox second baseman and Red Sox "color" analyst for the New England Sports Network has opened a sports bar at Terminal C.   Watch the game, have a drink, and sample some pretty good pub grub. The thing to order here though, is the "rem-dawg", Jerry's famous jumbo hot dog

Legal Seafoods

Terminals A, B and C

You are never far from a bowl of Legals "chowda" at Logan. Legal Seafoods has a huge presence here. There is the Legal' C Bar and Café in Terminal B. There is a full-service Legals restaurant in Terminal C. And there is a LTK Test Kitchen in Terminal A. LTK has  an extensive drink menu and great small plate offerings- its Legals -only more hip and with a multicultural edge.

Lucky's Lounge Logan

Terminal A

It is easy to unwind here- Lucky's is totally retro cool.  Lucky's tuna melt, the pressed meatloaf sandwich, and Lucky's mini burgers with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese are definitely a step up from regular airport fare.

Bonfire

Terminal B

Meeting someone special or someone important at the airport?  Bonfire is Celebrity Chef Todd English's Logan outpost and easily the most elegant place in the airport to dine. Bonfire is an upscale American steakhouse with a South American twist. Intriguing menu choices include Brazilian Churrasco Tenderloin and a Paella with chorizo and lobster.  There are smaller dishes too- try the Bonfire Nachos with lump crabmeat or the Tuna Quesadilla.
