A Three Hour Tour

"A Three Hour Tour"....remember that refrain from Gilligan's Island? That's all that it was supposed to be, three hours. You, too, can have a much more fun three hour tour in Baltimore.

The Clipper City Brewing Company tour lasts three hours and you will literally learn what's on tap.  You can tour the brewhouse, where you can learn how beer actually gets into the beer bottle without any air getting in.  You'll get to taste malt, rub some dry hops in your hand and learn some beer drinking tips.  On the tour, you also learn  about various types of beer such as pilsner, stout and IPA.  The most important thing to know about the tour is that immediately when you enter the tour, you get a beer.  You get five chips--each chip is good for a half-pint of beer.

If you like, you can actually engage the brewers in conversation if they are around after the tour.  Just be careful ---drink responsibly if you decide to use all of your chips.

To register for this tour, go to:  www.ccbeer.com/reserve-your-tour-tickets or call 410-247-7822.  The tour is free and you don't have to be 21 to go on the tour.  It does cost $5 for the beer chips and you need a valid ID to purchase the chips.  The brewery is at 4615 Hollins Ferry Road, Suite B.  Tours are held on Saturdays at 1 and 2:30 p.m.

If you decide to continue the party, just a few miles away, you can hit up Dog Pub Pizza and Drafthouse at 20 East Cross Street.  This pub brews its own beer and you can dine on some interesting pizzas as well.
