'Cheng Ho' Harbour Cruise.
Named after China's great seafaring explorer - and designed along the lines of one of his vessels from 600 years ago - the good ship Cheng Ho awaits your pleasure in Singapore Harbour.
A resolute discoverer of new lands, Cheng Ho and his fleet of over 300 ships - and more than 27,000 men - spread the influence of China as far as India, the Middle East and Africa between 1405 and 1433.
Visitors to Singapore can experience sailing on a modern-day Chinese Junk with all the attributes of a yesteryear ship. The vessel was built as an exact replica of the good ship Da Fu from the Ming Dynasty, when China's maritime power was at its height.
The 43 metre long ship takes up to 200 passengers and offers air-conditioned comfort on the three lower decks. The top deck offers a breezy experience as the sights and sounds of busy shipping - and a busy city - drift by.
The Cheng Ho is berthed at Marina South Pier and offers a choice of Day, Afternoon and Evening cruises.
Ten hotels provide complementary transfers to all cruises --- check out if yours is one of the properties. There are also free coach transfers from Marina Bay MRT station for those travelling by train.
Cruises takes in sights such as the Singapore Flyer, Sentosa Cove, Tanjong Pagar Container Port (the busiest in the world - by tonnage) and the general coming and going of vessels of all shapes and sizes as they criss-cross this busy waterway.
The Morning Glory cruise starts at 1030 and passengers are back on dry land at 1pm.
The Afternoon Tea cruise operates between 3pm and 5.30pm ... and the Night Cruise is from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
So ‘standby for boarding' ... the Cheng Ho awaits your pleasure. Pirates not allowed though!
