Who says you can’t take it with you?
After finishing a degree in Audio Engineering in Boston, Nichole returned home to California where she worked for Sony Music, BMG & Columbia Records. One too many Hollywood sightings later, she hopped on a plane to live out a lifelong dream of the “American in Europe” and never looked back. Even though an audio engineering degree didn’t get her far here, years of traveling and her wild curiosity has led to four years of professional tour guiding and travel consulting in Europe.

Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire....
Imagine a cold fall evening in Tuscany, the winter’s chill coming in from the east, the fog rolling in over the vineyards. In the main piazza you’ll find a local fair, with the warm and inviting scent of chestnuts luring you to join in. How can one resist?
This time of year in Tuscany, warm chestnuts can be found in almost any town, particularly in the North of Tuscany, which are still covered in Chestnut - Castagna – forests. You’ll actually find locals out in October collecting the chestunts themselves to either sell at street fairs or in their shops to bake with. It’s common also to go to these local community fairs where you purchase a bag of chestnuts and literally throw the shells on the ground as you walk around. By the end of the evening you can barely walk through them!
I suggest having a visit to a small village this fall, such as Monteleone d’Orvieto or Città della Pieve or even the nearby Fiesole and try one of the many delicous desserts and pastries with a splash of chestnut flavor.
