I am a Chicagoan through and through. I live in the Old Town area of the city with a view of Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park Zoo (well, the zoo's petting zoo to be precise - better view anyway than the main zoo because it includes a beautiful lagoon...

Chicago's Ritz-Carlton Launches a New Program

To help travelers cut down on the costs of checking bags with the airlines, the Ritz-Carlton Chicago (a Four Seasons hotel) has launched a new "Stay As Long As You Like" program that includes complimentary travel essentials, guest luggage storage, and unpacking and laundering of guests' clothes. Guests can select from more than 100 travel essentials - including clothing and grooming products, which are delivered to their rooms any time of the day, and are complimentary. (Isn't that a change from all the fees the airlines now try to charge you - nice to see a hotel trying to help travelers.) If you travel to Chicago frequently, you can even leave your luggage and belongings with the hotel's special services manager, Jennifer McVicker who will store them for you.  Jennifer told me she has secured golf clubs, children's toys, and even a Christmas tree for a woman who celebrates the holiday at the hotel each year. When you return to the hotel, Jennifer will have laundered your clothing and have it waiting for you in your guestroom. And, if she notices a loose button or zipper, the hotel's seamstress wil fix it. Jennifer can also ship your items home.
