Cost Savings at Balboa Park
If you plan on staying in San Diego and seeing all there is to see at historical Balboa Park, then do consider the Passport to Balboa Park. This passport will save you nearly 50 percent in museum ticket costs.
The passport is issued for 7 consecutive days and allows you to visit the following great 13 museums/sites: Japanese Friendship Garden, Mingei International Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts, Museum of San Diego History, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, Rueben H. Fleet Science Center, San Diego Air and Space Museum, SDAI-Museum of the Living Artist, San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Museum of Man, San Diego Natural History Museum and San Diego Hall of Champions.
This passport includes a one-time admission into each of these museums. There is another cost savings passport offered which is the Passport to Balboa Park and a one-day visit to the San Diego Zoo combination. Again, it provides a huge dollar savings.
You can purchase your Passport to Balboa Park a couple of ways - either online or in person at the Balboa Park Visitors Center. It's also important to note that these passports are NOT refundable.
Anyone who has been to Balboa Park knows that it is a huge place. So, take advantage of the Free Balboa Tram that cruises around the park. You'll know you've found the Tram Stop when you see the red and white signs located in front of the museums and designated parking lot areas. The tram schedule circulates these spots for pick up/drop off every 10 to 15 minutes.
Balboa Park is an amazing place to visit, and with the savings perks it has to offer, makes it so much more attractive!
