Danny Rock: A Tasty Alternative
Sick of pasta yet? For many of us, the first few days eating in a foreign country are fantastic. We search high and low to find the local hot spots for good dining and try almost everything we see on the menu. But not everyone can last the entire vacation on pasta and pizza. So where do we go to find a tasty alternative?
Last week as I was wandering around I found myself at a fun looking restaurant called Danny Rock on Via Pandolfini. Don’t let the name put you off, it’s not all hamburgers and French fries. With a selection of 12 styles of cooking, you won’t go hungry here.? Enjoy delicious salads, burgers (the Mexican with Guacamole), Indian rice Basmati, sweet crepes and savoury accompanied by cider from Britain, baked potatoes, basically anything you could dream of having on vacation, Danny Rock has it.
Of course they also offer Italian style including pizza, gnocchi, calzoni and spaghetti, but it might be fun to try something different if you can’t handle another tomato based meal. They’ve even hired a fantastic French chef Laurent who creates some of the best crepes I’ve tasted in Europe.
With indoor, bar-style dining, and also a small outdoor terrace, Danny Rock is a great alternative to your average trattoria in Florence.
