Denver's Best Parks: City Park
City Park is another gem of a park near downtown. From here, you can see signature views of downtown framed by the majestic Rocky Mountains. Like Washington Park, City Park features biking and walking paths, as well as a lake. Unlike Wash Park, City Park is the home of two of Denver's top Attractions, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Denver Zoo. Both are located on the eastern edge of the park.
The lake is home to the "electric prismatic fountain". This fountain was built for the 1908 Democratic Party convention, and was refurbished for last years 2008 Democratic Convention in which President Barack Obama was nominated. At night, it is lighted up from the inside in a spectacular show that was state of the art in 1908, yet is still beautiful today.
This park and all of the nearby attractions make for a great family destination. With the museum so close, you even have a backup plan in case the weather is not conducive to strolling around the park
