Eat Chic at Edinburgh Airport
Airport food doesn't have to be dull and boring. Most airports are full of fast-food junk full of salt, sugar, and devoid of flavor. And what about those vending machines with stale water and out of date crisps? Well in Edinburgh, you don't have to eat poorly. Let me introduce you to Paul, a British chain of Parisian bakeries and a tenant in the main terminal at Edinburgh. Just across to the right as you exit the security screening area, you'll find a glass counter full of French treats: steaming hot, freshly baked quiche, handmade sandwiches in golden brown baguettes, not to mention an endless list of cakes and pastries. Wash everything down with a heart-pumping injection of espresso or cappuccino.
Paul has a small dining area but you can easily take any of your selections to another seat in the terminal. The sandwiches and cakes are also a great snack to take with you on the plane - skip the overpriced and underwhelming tastes on board and bring your own bit of France with you!

Paul in the Edinburgh Airport is open for all scheduled flights, meaning Paul will be there for you for those early morning flights and will stay open until prior the departure of the last flights of the day.
Should you just be in the mood for a quick coffee and/or muffin, there is a Costa Coffee counter on either end of the main terminal, as well as a nice Costa cafe across from EU baggage arrivals. Avoid the sandwiches though and stick to the pastries.
There are few other restaurants at Edinburgh Airport - despite the volume of passengers, there airport really isn't that big. You can get plenty of water, soft drinks, and crisps at the W.H. Smith newsagent in the middle of the terminal (to the right as you leave security), and there are a few restaurants on the upper level outside of security - pasties and pub food, basically, although I have to say your best bet is Paul.
Bon appétit!
