Eating at Quebec’s Jean Lessage airport
Although Quebec City has been the capital of Canada, although it is now the capital of the province of Quebec, it's airport is far less important than that of Montreal, the largest city of the province and the main port of entry into eastern Canada. Our local airport thus has much less traffic although it is served by 10 airlines offering more than 300 national and international flights a week. Because it is most of the time a final destination, passengers rarely wait at Quebec's airport for a connection, which in most cases cause delays and the need to keep occupy. It's a known fact that eating is one of the best ways to spend such time and to get rid of the frustration caused by delays.
Because such a situation rarely happens at Quebec City's Jean Lessage airport the choice of restaurants is limited to two: The brand new L'Envol, a restaurant/bar with a beautiful panoramic view and a Tim Horton. L'envol has a simple, trendy décor. As in every other sitting area at the airport, you can have access to high speed internet. The menu is standard; the food is good and prepared by a very reputable local caterer: Services Alimentaires Monchateau. The Tim Horton location on the other hand caters more to people on the go with the chain's famous coffee, its soups and chilli and the nourishing sandwiches offered.
I would not say that you‘ll make a culinary experience at Quebec City's airport, but I can assure you that you wont starve while waiting for your flight to leave.
