Golfing Fore!Kids

No, no, that is not a typo you see up there.  The Zurich Golf Classic really is an event Fore!Kids, as some of the best PGA TOUR professionals compete for millions of dollars to donate to children’s charities from around the region.  The Fore!Kids Foundation is the main organization that rallies career golfers to the standard of children in need.  Generating funds through the production of golf-related events, they have helped raise more than $13 million for children’s causes in only six years.

How do they do it?

This mind-boggling number is the product of a combination of great golfers willing to donate their time and winnings and an enthusiastic crowd.  Since the inception of the tournament in 1938, crowds have flocked to watch this game.  This was made easier in 1989, when the Zurich Golf Classic moved to beautiful English Turn, offering stadium seating at every hole.  It has since moved from this upscale neighborhood and club to TPC Louisiana, a gorgeous 250 acre, 72-par green paradise built on top of a swamp.

Tickets are still available and player commitments will be announced soon for this March 24-30 event.  However, if being a spectator is not your scene, why not book your own golf game?  There’s nothing quite like golfing in the warm, luxurious Louisiana sun among the gorgeous trees and tropical touches of New Orleans.  English Turn (West Bank), TPC Louisiana (West Bank), Audubon Golf Club (Uptown), Beau Chene, and Carter Plantation are open to reservations from the public.  The courses at City Park are unfortunately still being fixed, but their driving range is great for practice.
