Great weekend markets in Sydney
While large corporate malls and chain stores line the streets of Sydney, there are still places to find a quirky or uniquely designed clothing or jewellery in a market. Sydney has markets galore and you'll find one most weekends somewhere, lurking in the local school or a designated parkland.

Established in 1973, the Paddington Market is the oldest community market in Sydney and has great selection in arts and crafts items as well as great fashion selections, especially those of the bohemian styles.
Atmosphere at the Paddington Markets is vibrant and quirky and is a great day out for all visitors.

Along the sidewalk next to the iconic Manly beach, the Manly arts and crafts market is a little more 'exquisite' than other community markets however offer great ranges of local arts and craft produce by local artists and jewelers.

Right opposite the beach in Bondi Beach Public School, is another market where you'll definitely find what you are looking for. Not to mention, it's right there at the most famous beach in Sydney, you can lie around on the golden sand and go for a dip in the sparkling blue ocean before heading over for a stroll around the markets. This would make a great day out!

Right in the heart of the city, Paddy's Markets is probably where everyone goes for cheap souvenirs and fresh vegetables. The trick is to go on a Sunday afternoon when they have all the fresh produce on sale as they can't keep them for the next week!
Extremely crowded, and not much atmosphere, would go for the convenience only.

Due to its location, this market can get a little crowded, however Balmain markets is another great place to purchase fashion, foot ware, antiques and jewelery of alternative themes. Being in the suburb of Balmain, the market is surrounded by excellent cafes and restaurant culture in Sydney and is an excellent day out for all visitors.

Unfortunately this most famous market in Sydney is slightly overrated. Still, for international visitors, worth going to have a look, you can get a variety of souvenirs here as well as some great local produce, or simply just have a stroll among the little lanes that makes up this oldest area of Sydney.
