It Tastes Really Good....
This weekend, there are numerous food festivals happening all over the Washington metropolitan area.
1) Greek Festival: Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Churches are putting on a greek festival will traditional greek food such as baklava and spanakopita. There will also be a greek marketplace at the festival as well. The festival runs from Friday to Sunday. 4115 16th St, N.W. www.stsconstantine-helen.com
2) Taste of Maryland: More than 30 Maryland restaurants will offer demonstrations and samples. The Taste runs Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm at the new National Harbor. 137 National Plaza, Oxon Hill. www.tasteofmaryland.org. The fee is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tasting tickets are $10 for 18.
3) Tatste of the Pike: Since I live in Virginia, I am a little partial to this event, but unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year. There will be food from Thailand, Ethiopia and Peru. There is also a global market and traditional musicians and dancers. Best of all, admission is free. www.columbiapike.org
4) Lebanese Food Festival: Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church is holding its annual festival. This festival sounds really interesting because there will be belly dancing lessons and you can learn about Lebanese wines. This festival is only on Saturday from 11am to 11pm. wwww.ourladyoflebabnon-dc.org.
Take your pick, but either way, you are sure to have a good time at any of these events this weekend.
