Krazy Talk!
Starting May 17th, the VAG will have a new summer show. A gallery show featuring anime, comics, video games, and art.
Not only, will this show run until Sept 7th, but it will feature 4 discussions with leaders in the visual arts/literature world.
The first discussion will take place on May 15th at 7pm and will feature Art Speiegelman, the author of the Maus books. I just finished reading these graphic novels about the Holocaust, and they are haunting, and very effective. I am sure he has some very very profound things to say about this new medium.
Next discussion is on May 23 at 7pm and features Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak. These graphic designers have collaborated with Stella MacCartney, Yohji Yamamoto, Douglas Gordon, and Bjork.
Third up is on May 29th again at 7pm anf features Tim Johnson. Mr Johnson is a Dreamworks Animation film director. He has directed the movies Over the Hedge, Antz, and even directed a segment of The Simpsons Halloween Special.
The last discussion, is for the gamers out there. It takes place on June 4th and features Will Wright, who is the designer of the uber popular computer simulation games SimCity, and The Sims. He has many awards to his name - not to mention probably has a lot of great stories to tell.
All discussions take place at the Centre for Digital Media - Great Northern Way Campus
