La Sandwicherie

In what’s become a super-competitive dining arena of the country, longtime local hangouts and small cafes or snack bars only get to survive in Miami’s more travelled neighborhoods if they serve a genuine niche with a solid reputation.  Such is the case with La Sandwicherie, which long since developed its own winning combination to withstand any new boys opening their doors nearby in South Beach.  La Sandwicherie’s ingredients for success include the use of only fresh staples, even those that are imported, a flair for the art of the sandwich, drawing on both European and New World preferences, and an eye to creativeness that doesn’t demand a huge tab for the result.  Did we forget, a major helping of being open and serving almost round the clock, from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.?

Another sure factor in this landmark French deli’s endurance has to be that they’re happy to prepare according to your tastes.  So for instance with their sandwich creations, you choose whether it’s to be French or croissant bread, then the wide variety of filler and combination of filler—roast beef, ham, turkey, prosciutto, smoked salmon and much more—and last but not least the fine selection of toppings on hand that include Lettuce, Tomatoes, Green & Hot Peppers, Black Olives, Onions, Cucumbers, Cornichons (French Pickles), Mayonnaise, and Vinaigrette.  Their salads prove an equally filling if lighter snack (Caesar, Tomatoes Mozarella, French Riviera, Tuna being among our favorites), while the juice bar serves up some wonderful smoothies and shakes and veggie juices blended from fresh fruits and vegetables of the region and Caribbean.

Needless to say, their to-go service with all your individually prepared goodies also packaged up nicely in a stylish plastic bag is a valued lifesaver among those perpetually on the go at strange hours on the clock, which in Miami time means normal.
