Lectures
Since the National Black Arts Festival is in town, so are plenty of famous African Americans from around the United States. This Sunday, July 20th if your interested in a cultural lecture you may want to hurry and get tickets to CREATIVELY SPEAKING.
Scheduled to appear are Cornel West of Princeton University, leading a open discussion on the Civil Rights Movement and artists. Also speaking will be Wyton Marsalis and Carrie Mae Weems who's known for her eye grabbing photography. Afterwards, there will be a second talk with authors Alice Walker and Pearl Cleage.
I would get your tickets quickly for this event since it's been heavily advertised around Atlanta.
