Let's Get Out of Reality...and Travel Back in Time
The new cultural center named "Ellinikos Kosmos" (Greek World) currently has three exhibitions running. I went and saw the "Brain" exhibit last month and it was informative, creative and multi-lingual, for those of you wanting to practice your language skills, as I did. It also confirmed my hypothesis that we really don't know much about how our brains work!
The exhibit I really want to see now is called "Meeting in the Ancient Agora", which lets us roam around the ancient agora with digital devices, audio-visual productions, maps, etc. and allows us to relive a time in history we so much wonder about in amazement. It runs on Mon., Tues., Thurs. 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Wed., Fri. 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Sat. 11 p.m.-4 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The other exhibit is more of an analysis of mathematical thoughts through videos, pictures and other devices. This is called "A Solution for Everything; A Trip into the World of the Ancient Greek Mathematics". It runs Mon., Tues., Thurs., 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Wed. and Fri. 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The theatre dome is also running shows and even one with live actors in it! So, you may want to plan on spending more than just a couple of hours!!
The exact address of the cultural center is 254 Peiraios Street in Tauros, which is accessible by train/metro (the green line). However, since there are various renovations still doing on in the multi-complex center, and you may not want to park in the wrong lot and walk too far, like I did, I'd suggest calling to get the exact location of the exhibition you wish to see 2122540000. Tickets range from 5-15 euros depending on the show or exhibit you are planning to visit. Good luck and have a spacey trip!!
