Live Jazz
The Living Room at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is one of the best venues in Bangkok for jazz. Gifted vocalist, Deborah Davis recently began a short residency at the hotel and will be singing nightly until the 1st of June. A consummate performer, Davis has sung on the stage of many renowned jazz clubs and concert halls including New York's famed Birdland, the Village Vanguard, and a recently "sold out" performance at The Blue Note.
Armed with a vast musical knowledge and great depth of experience, Davis is comfortable in almost any genre; jazz, classical, gospel, country and R&B. A native of Dallas Texas, in 1986 she moved to New York City where she quickly became a presence in the NYC jazz scene. Deborah's distinct style of phrasing, extraordinary singing ability and professionalism led to performances with legendary jazz greats Lionel Hampton and Clark Terry. A highlight of her early career was the invitation to jam with native Dallas jazz legend, pianist Red Garland.
During her residency at The Living Room, Davis will be accompanied by Shawn Kelley on drums, Belinda Moody on bass.
From June 5th until the 15th The Living Room will feature the great trumpet player, Leroy Jones - a significant figure amongst a new breed of gifted young musicians participating in the renaissance of New Orleans brass bands.
