Having grown up outside the Philippines, Knox was raised on a diet of Macaulay Culkin movies, Barbie dreams, and the sounds of MTV. When she returned to the Philippines during her teens, she began to seek out a distinctly Pinoy culture. So far, she loves what she’s seeing. Manila for her is a fertile ground for art, music, fashion, and fun. Living in a little known, third world country definitely has its perks. Adventures are affordable and discovery doesn’t come in the usual package.
Her best advice for travellers new to the Philippines is to go out on the streets where faces, traffic, and landscape can create a collage of experiences that’s gritty and real.
Knox is a 24 year-old dreamer who also happens to be an advertising copywriter. She loves to travel and dreams of bag packing throughout the entire Philippine Archipelago. She hopes that through this blog, people from all over the world will find a reason to drop by.

NAIA 3 is Open for Business
Finally a world-class airport for a country with world-class potential!
Gargantuan news for travellers! The contentious NAIA 3 or Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 is now in operation. It opened its doors last July 22, after almost six years of controversies surrounding its ownership and structural safety. After a month of flights, no major snags have happened. So, it’s time to breathe a sigh of relief and rejoice. Filipinos finally have an airport massive enough to match their hospitable spirit!
Currently, the airport is serving only domestic airlines to local destinations, but by the end of the year it should host international flights as well. Once that happens, foreigners will be saved from experiencing the original Ninoy Aquino International Airport, an edifice begging for retirement. It’s outdated, rundown, and crippled by inefficiency. If you’re well-travelled and you enter through the old airport, you will most definitely want to turn around.
NAIA 3 soars above the two terminals starting with its size. It has enough runway room for 28 planes at any given time and an annual passenger capacity of 13 million. It’s sleek and modern design is at par with the chic airports of the region. Aside from that, it will be an “open” airport where passengers can mingle with their send-off party. Non-passengers can relax and celebrate in the lobbies, restaurants, shops, and cafes in the airport. In the old airports, they were barred from entering. When you come to the Philippines, you will understand the importance of this privilege once you see just how clingy Filipinos get when it’s time to say goodbye.
