News Cafe At Cape Town International Airport

Cape Town International Airport is having a facelift and some major construction in anticipation for the Soccer world Cup in 2010.

Primly positioned in the International Arrivals and Departures Terminal is News Café. The open plan design give you full view of the airfield, Arrival & Departures flight information boards. There are 3 big screen TV with the latest news broadcast playing in the background.

News Café has a fresh vibe with very helpful and attentive staff that is very willing to assist with any questions. Most of the staff are multilingual enabling them to work with clients from all over the world.

Their menu offers something for everyone with Steaks, Burgers, Smoothies and one thing we were impressed with is that they had a "Low Fat" option and are very happy to adjust a meal to meet the needs of a client. They have a variety of very delicious cakes that are specially ordered so to ensure that they be of the best quality.

We enjoyed a lovely meal at News Café - I had a Bacon and Cheese Hamburger and Andrew enjoyed a vegetarian Tramazinie with Feta, Spinach and Mushroom and We could ended off with cheesecake and lemon meringue pie.

If you are not really interested in having a meal or something sweet you can always pop into the bar area where you can enjoy one of their many popular cocktails and a wide variety of South African beers that are served on tap.

All Terminals at Cape Town International are non-smoking areas but smokers are able to smoke outside. Unfortunately there is no wireless internet access in the terminal but they are hoping to have it installed in the near future.

It is a place to be if you are waiting to kill sometime before a flight but do not get too relaxed like so many do that they forget that they have a flight to catch!.
