Restaurants Charles de Gaulle
Paris is a city unlike any other. Unfortunately, its main airport, Charles de Gaulle, is like most every other in one respect: limited to lousy dining options. For layovers longer than 4-5 hours, do yourself a favor and take the RER B train into Paris for a real meal. If you can't leave the airport, your best bet is
Brasserie Flo in Terminal 2F. This traditional French bistro is a child of the distinguished Flo restaurant family, whose other members include the renowned cafes
Bofinger and
La Coupole. Open all day, Flo serves lunch from 11:45 to 15:00 and dinner from 18:30 to 22:30, with bar service throughout the day. Another passable option is the
Salmon House restaurant in 2B, specializing in (you guessed it) seafood. The bar opens at 6:30am, while restaurant service starts at 11:00am and runs continuously to closing at 22:30. For a quick sandwich, find the
Paul boulangerie, also in Terminal 2F. This chain is a popular Parisian lunch choice.
Fortunately, CDG has several interesting shopping options to distract you from your grumbling stomach, including Swatch, Swarovski, and even a branch of the famous Parisian department store, Printemps, in Terminal 1. You can get a massage or manicure at the Be-Relax boutique in Terminal 2, or get a haircut at Coiffure Christian Giles in 2F. While it's practically impossible to truly relax at any airport, travelers looking for a quiet place away from the commotion can head to the
Galaxy Bar at the Sheraton Hotel, also in Terminal 2.
