Save the Waves!

There is a special appreciation for the ocean here in the Bay Area. With water on three sides of us, I would argue that most of us are dedicated to cleaning our oceans, bays and rivers. There are always surfers in the waves and kayakers, windsurfers and sailboats out on the bay. Join us water enthusiasts on Thursday, May 22nd for Save the Waves Coalition. Hosted by the always-hopping 111 Minna Gallery, the event will include live music, surf films, auctions and a raffle. Musical guests will include Guns for San Sebastian and Dung Beetles along with DJ Aaron Pope and DJ Paul. The raffle is also worth entering as you could win international surf trips, surfboards, or limited edition prints. Don't be deterred by the $20 dollar cover, as it is a direct donation to the non-profit that works towards preserving the world’s best surf spots by calling for responsible tourism, environmentally friendly resort development and ocean reef conservation. 111 Minna is a good bar/gallery/musical venue to check out regardless as there is an ever-changing calendar with a wide range of events.
