As the day approaches, you may be panicking about a costume. For many, Halloween is not a relaxing holiday or celebration, but a frantic attempt make an outfit that proves to be creative, attractive, and clever! You should be ashamed if you think a pumpkin, witch or even an M&M will do. This is your chance to be something really, really awesome.

Have no fear; there are plenty of costume headquarters in San Francisco. To start, check out Haight Street as the popular strip goes all out in late October. Wasteland, Aardvarks, Held Over and Costumes on Haight are great choices with amazing vintage and new costumes and ideas. If you are near the Castro District, head to Cliff’s Variety. Around Halloween, Cliff’s is a Halloween hub. Another option is the Spirit Stores, with several locations throughout the city, there are plenty of shops that can help get you decked out.
