Summer in the City: 5 Places to Cool Off.
This week, Boston is experiencing an earlier than usual heat wave- temperatures may even hit triple digits! Here are five places to keep in mind when you want to escape Boston's sometimes sweltering summer-time heat.

Fit and Fabulous? RTP at the Colonnade is the only rooftop hotel pool in the city. The pool side bar (and bar scene) has received accolades from Boston Magazine, Playboy and USA Today. Open to the public Monday-Friday, admission is $30.

Thanks to the Boston Harbor Cleanup, Boston’s beaches are swimmable again. Carson Beach in South Boston is a life-guarded beach, has restrooms, a paved walkway and great views of Dorchester Bay.

Christopher Columbus Park is appropriately located between Long Wharf and the North End. The wisteria covered trellis walkway and rose gardens are worth a stroll. Then press the button on the fountains and dash in and out of the spray.
