The show must go on...

The coolest new spot for theatre lovers is at Kavarna (Coffeehouse) Potrva (Srbska  2, right off Hradcanska metro). The amateur student theatre group, Divadlo Potrva has its new home here at this chic yet cozy cafe, serving up beer, coffees and ciabatta sandwiches with a hefty side of entertainment. Ranging from such shows as "Kabaret a la carte" to "4 Acts of Death," the cafe is also used on certain nights for concerts, discussion forums (most recent was on Artificial Intelligence) and open mic nights. However, most of these events are conducted in Czech, but if you are interested in simply taking in the local theatre or music scene, I highly recommend this space as a first stop. And a huge bonus is that the servers are students themselves and offer the friendliest customer service I have experienced in this city ever! Open daily from noon till midnight on weekdays, from 3pm till midnight on weekends. Free wifi.
