The Beer Festival
Toronto's Annual Festival of Beer is one of my favourite events...ever. Unless you don't drink or seriously hate beer, there is no reason why you wouldn't enjoy a weekend of tasting more than 200 brands of beer with hundreds of the city's finest beer fans. Sure, you have to put up with crowds and port-o-potties, but everyone's in good spirits (literally), the weather has been great every year I've gone and not only is there beer but there's live music and delicious food.
The event takes place Thursday August 7 through Sunday August 10 at Historic Fort York. Saturday is the big day and is already sold out! So get online and buy your tickets now...but before you get out your credit card, consider attending one of the Beer Fest's satellite events. Beer Festival tickets are between $25 and $50 but if you buy a ticket to one of the beer tastings leading up to the big day, you get a free ticket to the beer fest.
