Vanessa has been to New York, London and Paris – and still considers Toronto her world-class city of choice (at least until French Vogue comes calling, of course). A trained journalist, currently working at HGTV.ca as a web editor and producer, she's also been a researcher, beauty editor and fashion industry insider.
Although she's now covering home decor and lifestyle, the range of topics she write about is quite varied. Want to know how to get a man to buy you a drink at a bar, how beer is brewed or how Omega fatty acids can improve your health? Vanessa has written about it. And now with, Planet Eye, she’ll keep you up-to-date on the best events, restaurants and cultural activities the Toronto has to offer.
Instead of just hitting the gym, Vanessa takes classes at the National Ballet School and is proud of her impeccable posture. She loves Queen Street West and Kensington market for unique fashion finds. And sushi cravings keep her on the lookout for the freshest fish in the city. She’s dabbled in hand modeling and her delicate digits have graced billboards and magazine pages alike.
But Vanessa is most comfortable behind the camera – and can often be found in front of a computer reading about style and art or out on the street, discovering new restaurants, stores and hidden gems in her own city.

The Go Toronto Card
If you're in Toronto for a few days and are set to do some serious sight-seeing, the Go Toronto Card is a fabulous way to save money. It's one credit card-sized piece of plastic that gets you entry into a long list of Toronto and Niagara Falls attractions for one price within a set time period -- between one and three days.
The card will not get you into Canada's Wonderland or the ROM, but it will get you a hop-on, hop-off double decker bus city tour, a scenic cruise of the Toronto shoreline on the Mariposa cruiselines and entry into the Bata Shoe Museum and Gardiner Museum among tours of Toronto's historic areas and buildings and attractions like Niagara Falls' Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. It also gets you discounts on tickets to shows like The Second City.
The card is activated the first time you use it and expires based on the number of days you've bought. A one-day card is $73.49 for adults and $57.74 for children and, at regular price (there are promotions now and then) a three-day card is $146.99 for adults and $110.24 for kids.
Visit the Go Toronto Card site to pre-order and have the card delivered to your home before you hit the city.
