Here is a glimpse of some interesting art spots to hit while in Manila this week.

Whitespace. Manila Contemporary presents Halo Halo 1; Mix Hang featuring the gallery’s collection of work by Valeria Cavestany, Don Salubayba, Popo San Pascual, Argie Bandoy, Anthony Palomo and Ofelia Gelvezon Tequi among others. The showcase also includes other works by Cris Villanueva Jr., Alwin Reamillo, Kaloy Sanchez, Dan Raralio, Felix Bacolor, Jonathan Olazo, Jucar Raquepo. It is on view until April 12 at 2314 Pasong Tamo Ext., Makati.

Yuchengco Museum. Zeitgeist Becomes Form: German Fashion Photography 1945-1995. It includes works by Wolfgang Tillmans, Peter Lindbergh, Helmut Newton, Jurgen Teller and 35 other photographers. An exhibit of Institut fur Auslandsbeziehungen e.V. (ifa)/Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations presented by the Goethe-Institut. is on view until April 25 at the Yuchengco Museum, Ayala cor. Gil Puyat, Makati City.

Kaida Art Gallery.
Manila Sound is a photographic exhibition of works by Tokyo-based photographer Koji Onaka and Filipino sculptor and multimedia artist, Noell EL Farol. Concurrent with this exhibition, Japanese sound artist, Seido Toshiyuki transformed the photographs of Onaka and EL Farol into cards and produced a recorded sound art using the city noises of Manila entitled Manila Box. Wrapped like a gift box, Manila Box includes 25 photographs each of Onaka and EL Farol, is available at Kaida Art Gallery with limited edition of 250 boxes. Simultaneously at the Grey Wall of the gallery, small sculptural pieces that emit sound will be installed. Invited artists are Ruel Caasi, Renato Agustin Ong, Mervy Pueblo, Claro Ramirez, Lirio Salvador and invited Japanese artists. The shows run until April 2. The gallery is at 2nd Floor, GFO Bldg., 122 Kamuning Rd, QC.
