Weather Wise Tips
Cape Town is quiet different from the rest of the country weather wise. We have a Mediterranean Climate meaning we have long hot summers and mild, wet winter.
The best time of the year is just after the summer heat cools down from March to April. This time is perfect also because the wind dies down and fall / autumn is setting in.
November to February is Summer during this time it can get as hot as 37*c and the perfect time to spend time on many of the city's stunning beaches. May to July is Winter with the maximum temperature being 18*c but do not be fool there are some really lovely and warm winters day.
August to October is Spring the time when the magnificent flower displays cover the fields and slopes long the west coast. Oh let me not forget to mention the “Cape Doctor” as locals call it, which is a South Easter wind that blows very strong at times and brings surfers great joy.
One thing that cannot be stressed enough to tourist is SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN. The African sun can do damage to your skin even during winter or on a cloudy day.
When traveling make sure you have your sunscreen, a hat, good walking shoes and a small bottle of water. If you going out to sea on a cruise then take a light jacket along as weather conditions can change or be very different from the land.
A good site to keep an eye on is www.weathersa.co.za but no matter the weather you are guaranteed to have fun in the city of Cape Town with all its cultures and secrets.
