Description: The Empire Palace Hotel enjoys a privileged place in Rome within a easy stroll you could be in the Borghese Gardens sipping a drink while people watching on the Via Veneto browsing the antiques of Via Margutta or enjoying the spectacle of the Spanish Steps. It opened as a 113 room hotel in 1999 having been a grand house once owned by a noble Venetian Family. Built around a courtyard where light meals and drinks are served with stables at the rear the conversion is a stylish not to say an opulent contrast of classic and contemporary. The design works around three themes Venice modern art and the stars of the night. The American Bar in the converted stables has the cutting edge of Space Age design while the guestrooms mellow in the lustrous patina of cherrywood and hues of gold. The restaurant Aureliano named after the Roman Emperor serves gourmet seasonal Mediterranean cuisine and fine wines in an aura of classic elegance.
