Although jazz is not a particularly 'German' phenomenon, Berlin is a haven for jazz lovers. The highlight of Berlin's jazz scene is the annual JazzFest, which attracts some of the biggest names in the business. Over the years, the focus shifted away from the big American names, but a handful of renowned Americans (such as piano legend Herbie Hancock and sax player Lee Konitz) still perform on a regular basis. A number of world music bands—from Finnish orchestras to Klezmer quintets - have been added to the roster.
