The last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September are designated National Culture Days in Quebec; Montreal's Journees de la Culture has expanded to become one of the major events on the cultural calendar. The event brings together the public and various cultural groups in the city, while opening a dialogue between the groups and the public. More than 650 groups present everything from art classes to architecture tours, meet-the-artist evenings and straight-ahead art exhibitions; consult the website for details. All activities are free.
