I'm not sure when or how Sherman Oaks cornered the market on French food -- maybe when European cuisine became so frightfully passé -- but this place is consistently packed to the gills, often to the point of being… too crowded for comfort. Regulars come for French dishes hard to find anywhere else, like spicy sausage with fries and calf liver. There's also a nice if short wine list, with very reasonably priced French reds. [link]
