Surviving everything from the Great Depression to earthquakes, The Paramount Theatre has endured to become one of Seattle's most beloved landmark venues. Past engagements include: the world premiere of the New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, Tony Bennett, The Bolshoi Ballet, David Bowie, Jerry Seinfeld, Maya Angelou, Dora the Explorer, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Disney's The Lion King, silent film series featuring Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd, Heart, Tom Waits, Grand Kabuki Theatre of Japan, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Phantom of the Opera, Eddie Izzard, Riverdance, Garrison Keillor, Buena Vista Social Club, Chris Rock, DANCE This, and thousands more. Helpful Information: Those who are interested in the free tour are asked to meet in front of the main entrance of the Theatre, on the corner of 9th and Pine, by 10:00am on tour days. Tours last approximately 90 minutes and are led by members of the well-versed volunteer staff.
