Description: The fountain with the four bronze statues of the Najadi by Mario Rutelli stands in the center of the square, bordered by the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and Diocletian's Baths. On the other side there are buildings of various architectural styles. Called Piazza della Repubblica after World War II, its official name is still Piazza Esedra, referring to the central exedra of the Baths. The square is a meeting point for official demonstrations and for receiving visiting delegations from abroad.
