Jonah Sigel – President, CEO & In-House Counsel

Jonah has more than 10 years of experience as a deal maker and corporate counsel in the technology sector, specifically subscription and business to business-based services, sports, entertainment and online media. He was director, International Business Development and corporate counsel with AOL Canada, where he played an integral role in the planning and launch of numerous Web services as well as the company’s transition from an ISP to a media/sales driven business.

Prior to AOL, Jonah was an attorney with several U.S. law firms; corporate counsel with DoveBid, the world’s largest online and offline corporate auctioneer; and a consultant to the Miami Heat basketball team and the Florida Panthers hockey team.

A self-professed gadget geek, information sponge and sports fanatic, Jonah received his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.



Juan González – Vice President, Technology

Over the past decade, Juan has been focused on building online applications for some of the most recognized brands, helping them deliver outstanding user experiences. His passion for global cultures inspired him to write an award-winning blog (Global Culture), which has sparked many of the ideas currently under development at PlanetEye. Follow him on Twitter.

As VP, Technology, Juan is responsible for the company’s long-term online strategy as well as the day-to-day leadership of the technology team. Before joining PlanetEye, Juan was a senior manager with Blast Radius, where he helped create a variety of Web solutions for clients such as Aeroplan, BMW Canada, Electronic Arts and Virgin America.

John Albright

Mr. Albright is the Founder and Managing Partner of JLA Ventures and the Co-Managing Partner of the Blackberry Partners Fund. Prior to the founding of JLA Ventures in 1996 and the BlackBerry Partners Fund in 2008, Mr. Albright held senior positions with several private equity and venture capital firms. During his tenure in the private equity and venture capital business Mr. Albright gained extensive experience assisting entrepreneurs and managers to shape their vision and capital plans into successful long term growth programs which typically involve an aggressive financing strategy. Mr. Albright has a history of assisting entrepreneurial companies through significant growth and eventually to the public markets. His ability to work with and advise senior management of investee companies as well as his skills in filling supporting roles where existing management lack the experience or skill set, has been vital to the success of past investments.

Mr. Albright is a Chartered Financial Analyst and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Mr. Albright serves as a director of several private and public companies, and the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) and is an advisory board member of the North American Venture Capital Association.



Scott Pelton

Scott is a vice-president, investments with GrowthWorks Capital Ltd. Before joining GrowthWorks in 2005, Scott spent five years with Scotiabank Private Equity Investments, most recently as executive director. He has also worked in a variety of consulting and systems development roles for clients such as Intel, SAP and Sony.



Doc Searls

Doc is a well-known writer, blogger, speaker and consultant on topics that arise where technology and business meet. He is the senior editor of Linux Journal, and runs Doc Searls’ IT Garage, an online journal published by Linux Journal’s parent company, SSC. Doc is also co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto: The End of Business as Usual.
