Santa's Village

Santa's Village was established in 1955 as a tourist destination by a group of local citizens when the Highway 11 was built and bypassed Bracebridge. These citizens felt that perhaps Santa would like a summer home in the most beautiful cottage area in Ontario which also happened to be conveniently located half way between the equator and the North Pole, on the 45th parallel.

On Dec. 6 and again on Dec. 13, "Santa takes a 26-story elevator to the top of Chimney Rock, then rappels down," Plowright says. "After visiting with the crowd, he goes back up again." Santa is available for photo ops at the Sky Lounge and when he reaches the parking lot. Enjoy hot chocolate, spiced cider and cookies while listening to holiday music.

The buildings and churches surrounding The Green will be decorated and will be brimming with holiday crafters and delicious food.
