The Setai

One would not usually be inclined to describe Miami's hot spots as serene. Interestingly, the Art Deco landmark building was originally built between 1936 and 1938, when it was known as the famed Dempsey Vanderbilt Hotel. A 40-story glass tower now stands next to it. South Beach

South Beach is the section of Miami Beach, Florida that encompasses the southernmost 23 blocks of an island separating the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. This area was the first section of Miami Beach to be developed, starting in the 1910s, thanks to the development efforts of Carl G. Fisher, the Lummus Brothers, John S. Collins, and others. The area has gone through numerous man-made and natural changes over the years, including a booming regional economy, increased tourism, and the 1926 hurricane, which destroyed much of the area.

Venice Lido

Venice's Lido is an 11-mile (18 km) long sandbar, home to about 20,000 residents, greatly augmented by the (mainly Italian) tourists who move in every summer. The Venice film festival takes place at the Lido every September.

Blijburg aan Zee

A sandy beach about 250 meters long and 40 meters wide, located on IJburg island. Blijburg has a true beach feel to it due to the unobstructed view of the large IJsselmeer lake. It has a beach bar and restaurant, and a campfire in the evening.
