About:
At Where The Locals Eat loves democracy as much as the next guy, but not when it comes to the serious business of determining culinary chops. They leave that kind of user-generated approach to others-the little book with the maroon cover comes to mind-who excel at this technique. They prefer an authoritative approach, balancing lengthy surveys of serious diners and hopelessly hooked restaurant habitues with the opinions and extensive research of certified foodies, who not only visit and revisit the local dining favorites but also revel in the hunt, as they trek tirelessly across town for hidden gems and little-known neighborhood legends. They are gastronomic explorers as familiar with the purveyors of delicate tastings as they are the dry-rubbed pulled pork from the little shack across the tracks.
